Correlation and causation

Two variables can move together without one causing the other. A third variable may influence both.

Observational data can reveal an association. On its own, that association does not establish a cause-and-effect relationship.

What can you conclude?

A city finds that ice cream sales and swimming accidents both rise during hot months.

Which conclusion is best supported?

A fixed sample question, not a generated test or a prediction of your exam. Open Dolphin to work with your own materials.

PREPARE. TRY. REVIEW.

Practice with a purpose.

1. Set the scope

Add your notes and tell Pip which topics your exam covers. Include the course level and any instructor guidance.

2. Ask for a quiz

Choose the question style and how much practice you want. Try answering before asking for the explanation.

3. Review your reasoning

Ask why an answer works. Return to your notes, then try a similar question to check your understanding.

NOT SURE WHAT TO ASK?

Start with this.

Copy this prompt, open Dolphin, and add your course materials.

Create a practice quiz from my course materials. Ask for my preferred topics and question format if needed. Include questions that test understanding and application, not just memorization. Let me attempt the questions before showing answers, then explain the reasoning and flag anything the source does not cover.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Practice test questions, answered.

How do I generate a practice test from my notes?

Open Dolphin, add your course materials, and ask Pip for a practice quiz. Specify the topics, number of questions, and question style you want. Sign in to upload documents and save your materials.

Can I choose the question format and difficulty?

Tell Pip whether you want multiple-choice questions, short answers, or a mix. Describe your course level and ask for questions that apply the concepts, not only recall definitions. Review the result and request adjustments.

Will the practice test match my real exam?

It is practice based on the material and guidance you provide, not a prediction of your instructor’s exam. Add a study outline or list of covered topics, and compare the questions with your course expectations.

Can I ask for explanations after answering?

Yes. Ask Pip to explain an answer, work through a similar example, or help you review a concept you missed. Check explanations against your notes because AI can make mistakes.

Is the example here generated from my files?

No. It is a fixed, illustrative question you can try without signing in. To practice with your own materials, open Dolphin and start a study conversation.
